The PSC 16 is a signal conditioning unit with 16 slots for various plug in cards. It is preferable to order all different cards to be flexible and able to fulfil unexpected requirements for future measurements. You can plug in a large range of different amplifier modules, such as strain gauges, carrier frequency, DC, frequency / volt-converter or PT100-amplifier... Easy handling. Step I you define the setup (sensitivity, bridge excitation, filter-frequency and so on), for each channel, on an IBM-compatible PC or notebook. Step II you send it to the PSC 16 via RS 232. Up to 8 different setups can be stored. Step III in the car, on the motorbike or where ever you want to measure, you switch on the power, select the setup number and the PSC 16 is ready. You can connect it with a D2/16 via two cables and the data can be stored on a DAT-tape. With further equipment you can transmit the data via telemetry, or directly into a computer. Please tell us what you want to do and we will offer you a suitable solution. Following functions are also possible without a computer: AZ: Auto zero calibration. The value is stored and not reset by power off. EXC: Excitation off. It is a very useful function to separate trouble effects and true signals. CAL: Calibration. One resistor can be plugged on the amplifier card, the value is dependent on the bridge resistance and the sensitivity of the amplifier. The bridge completion is also pluggable. Record and reproduce of 4 analog data channels, voice, date, time and digital signals. Extremely small and ruggedized design and therefore multiple application areas Usable in each position and therefore especially suitable for extreme mobile applications Very resistant against shock and vibrations Extremely adaptable to various measuring requests due to switchable number of channels and signal bandwidth Robust remote control box with bargraph display Computer interface for on- and off-line Data analysis (OPT.) Telemetry connection for computer interface for on-line data analysis during mobile use (OPTION) Event-driven record commands Record commands by Remote Control Automatic test number recording Fast search run in both directions Power supply DC 10 ... 18 V or 18 ... 32V, battery (OPTION), mains 220 V AC (OPTION) The D-2/4 DAT Recorder is small and powerful. The physical size has a major advantage over larger units. Due to the small mechanical dimension it can be. This becomes apparent, whenever space or critical positioning is the issue. Good examples are the cramped quarters of building and earth-moving machines, cars and planes. The surveillance's and analysis is done On-line. A telemetry output, connected to our RF telemetry TS/TE 2.5, transmits the data to a computer. Concurrently, high redundancy recording of raw data takes place within the DAT. With the aid of our REMUS Software all or single channels can be selected and/or presented. The computer freed from the ''Data Logging" task can now be utilized for analysis and presentation. The ''Record Commands" can be controlled remotely. The "Record Procedure" is started and terminated with the +5 V and 0 V levels respectively. Sometimes, especially during long term measurements, continuous recording would be impractical. In this case the ''Event-Driven" record control is a powerful tool. Supporting this feature is one "Event Channel". Once an ."Event Channel" is activated, a ''Record Procedure'' of approximately 1 minute is started. This procedure includes the recording of the active event, time and test number. The D-2/4 DAT can convert data from analog to digital and feed them into computer directly without recording. For this operation the "Tape Bypass" function is used. Just as in recording mode the analog data are filtered and digitized. The data are transferred directly to the computer instead to tape. This is independent upon the tape runs and records data or stays without recording. In this mode the DAT recorder is used as PCM encoder for telemetry transmission. Another feature is the pulse input DIG In/Out. With that feature any pulses with any sampling relationship from 0 to 40 kHz can be recorded and reproduced. This input is very suitable for PCM signals transmitted via RF telemetry. Data from PCM encoders, input pulses from sensors for revolution or speed, or the recording of simple events are just a few. Optionally an event multiplexer for 16 events is available. These are some examples of the flexible use of our Data Recorder D-2/4. For more information contact our sales office. First mode: The most flexible method is available when PCM data and a pulse clock are present at the encoder. In this case each different PCM coded data can be recorded and reproduced with a data rate of 80 up to 1280 kbit/s. Second mode: (OPTION) When only the PCM coded data without clock is provided form the encoder, record an replay is only possible with a corresponding option. In this case is only one bit rate for a special PCM code possible. Please inform us about the desired bit rate and PCM code when order. Bit rate: The maximum bit rate of 1280 kbit/s is only possible, if the bit rate and the clock have the same frequency. For some PCM codes such as e. g. Miller code the double clock rate is limited to a maximum of 640 kbit/s. This fact also concern mode one and two.Record of speech and IRIG B time code information. Independent of the measured data (PCM data), speech or IRIG B time code information can be recorded. (Please fix your choice when order, because only one mode can be installed). IRIG B time code will be only recorded and replayed in a modulated format. A display for IRIG B time on the recorder is not available. Remote control Additive to the normal DAT recorder handling buttons, there is an input for record start/ duration available. Due to adequate handling of generated measurement information either direction and rate of an acceleration vector or the velocity and covered distance of the test object can be determined. B1, B2 and B3 are capacitive accelerometers with an integrated circuit for transforming the capacitive response into an analog DC signal. The accelerometers are designed for acceleration measurements of vehicles, machines, buildings and plants as well as for seismic, dynamic, inclination and vibration measurements. They also guarantee for fast diagnosis of errors and are extraordinarily appropriated for stress control at strained components. The applied measuring system is based upon a gas-dynamical damped spring-mass-system as a part of a capacitive primary converter. With our special developed signal conditioning modules (SC-4/M, MC16/64 and RTSE600) it is possible to make a 3-stage full scale calibration by switching the gain, e.g. a 50g sensor with measuring ranges of 5g, 20g and 50g. The offset based on the earth gravitation may easy be compensated to a 0 volt output using the auto-zeroing function or a variable resistor.
